Taking my four- and six-year-old daughters to ballet on the weekend, I realised that you and I, and everyone, we're all just grown-up babies figuring out how to do everything.
It was when Luna, who's done ballet classes before, was trying to copy the kids in her class who clearly had zero idea what to do but were pretty confident in their lack of ability.
Here Luna was, trying to copy another six-year-old with zero idea on how to learn ballet instead of:
Which was a reminder to me that looking left and right while I'm in the rat race is not a winning strategy.
Nor is it for you.
Worry not what your brethren are doing or not doing, but find a strategy that actually works for you. Seek wisdom, intelligence, evidence, knowledge, expertise, and try something new if the current thing isn't working.
That's why I got back into podcasting this last week. After years of only podcasting for celebrants and wedding professionals, I got over myself and started something new that will hopefully move the needle on my Xero dashboard.
You don't have to do a podcast, but if you want to have a win, I highly recommend not looking at the other kids on the dance floor of the local community centre. You're probably already smarter than them and you just need some dude in an email to tell you that you can do it.
You can do it.
