For an email that promises to be sent on the first day of each month, sending an email on the 11th day of January seems disingenuous yet here I am with a quick mid-month issue of the Celebrant Institute monthly email for four reasons.
We have a new email system: Sarah and I have been reviewing expenses as the cost of running a business like the CI continues to increase. Almost $200 a month goes to sending an email to each of you. So I've done the hard work and moved the mailing list to Buttondown to save money and increase deliverability. Many report previous emails going to spam, so the move to a more professional bulk emailing system will hopefully reduce that. I've imported previous issues of the mailout if you missed one, or if you're reading this email for the first time and you are wondering what it is – TL;DR I basically just wanted to test send an email in the new system to make sure it works and to give you a chance to unsubscribe if you don't want this goodness in your inbox because it costs us money to send you something you don't want.
Reminder about remote NOIM witnessing: We're still being asked about the witnessing of NOIMs over a video call, so this is a reminder that: As of January 1, 2024, you cannot witness a NOIM over a video call. Here's the most recent update as of 11 January on that whole marriage law change situation; you can read our submission to the Senate on the changes.
If this is the first time this email has arrived in your inbox, it's a free email which is made available to all Australian marriage celebrants to help you stay abreast of the marriage laws, regulations, and to help you run an awesome celebrancy practice.
See you again on the first day of February, hopefully by then I've ironed out any email and technical issues and if you don't want to receive it you've already clicked unsubscribe because we truly don't want to bother you, only bless you ✌🏽

You are enjoying another Celebrant Institute production and you're receiving this email because you're a celebrant. If you aren't a celebrant then I don't know how you ended up here. If you've been forwarded this update and you'd like to subscribe for free, you can do that here.
